Rare Images of Buddy Holly and Waylon Jennings in a photo-booth at Grand Central Station, New York City shortly before Holly’s Death

“… And the three men I admire most: The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost, they caught the last train for the coast, the day the music died.” Don McLean, “American Pie”.

Take a look at these wonderful photos of Buddy Holly and Waylon Jennings shortly before Holly was killed in a plane crash along with the Big Bopper and Richie Valens in on February 3rd, 1959. If these were taken in New York City’s Grand Central Station, one could only assume they were embarking on that fateful tour that would be Holly’s last. That makes these all the more special. The most tragic thing about the death’s of Holly, Valens, and The Big Bopper? Their ages. The Big Bopper was 28. Holly was 22(!). Valens was 17 (!!).
