Lewis Terry: 21st Century Digital Impressionism

Lewis Terry is a freelance artist and a primary school teacher, residing in England. His art has been inspired by his love for impressionism and oil paintings, both of which he’s adopted techniques from in his digital work.

As Lewis told us, “I always start by drawing up my work on paper, then color it digitally, like I would paint an oil painting. Up close, my paintings are blurred, and much like with traditional impressionism, you can see the brush strokes. However, if you step back from the work it becomes fully clear, often looking photo-realistic.” Take a look at this wonderful art. Nightmare (the black and white piece) is especially strong. We think Lewis might have a career creating kick-ass Magic: The Gathering card art if he wants to!
