Rapid City, South Dakota-based artist Meg Harman cites both Frida Khalo and Salvador Dali as major influences of hers. I, personally, also see a lot of Peter Chung (creator of the original Æon Flux animated series) in her work. When you allow your hand and mind to lose control, yet stay synched with each other, when creating art good things usually happen. Take a look at Meg's work below! We really love it.

Renee Kirk recently shot these images during a trip to Paris. I love the combination of romanticized photos and ordinary "slice of life" shots in this series. It shows us that, no matter how much we romanticize something like the River Seine in our minds, there are those that perhaps take its history for granted! See below.
The Art of Maya Pom

What is art? Who are we? Where are we going? What does this all mean? These are the contemplative questions most artists ask themselves. The truth is, art is any form of self-expression, and anything that elicits an emotion, whether that be from yourself or from an audience. Maya Pom has been creating in one form or another since she was four years old. She makes it a point to experiment as much as possible, which leads to a wide array of creative expression. I think at some point art became something for the "snob" in all of us who are artists. If that's the case, then we've forgotten why the first cave paintings were created. They were made to create a visual narrative. Whether visual, oral or otherwise, that should be the goal of all art. If it makes you feel good in the process, then you're really doing your job as an artist. Check out Maya's work below.
