Lotta Nieminen: Jennifer Behr Brand Book

Helsinki, Finland raised and New York-based, 2010 Young Gun recipient Lotta Nieminen created this brand book for luxury hair accessory designer Jennifer Behr while working with RoAndCo Studio. The beauty of each hair accessory is equaled with the style and grace in which Lotta handles the composition and layout. Each spread is perfectly balanced, with type, color, and photography blending together perfectly, while simultaneously allowing the model's hair to flow throughout. The best part is that none of this screams "high fashion" in the way that a runway outfit is purposely over the top. Instead, each spread feels as though a beautiful women just whispered half of a secret in your ear before gracefully gliding away without revealing the rest of it. That's a good thing. People have forgotten that accessories should accessorize and while some of these creations are indeed daring, they're done so with a lot of poise. Unless your name is Hedda Hopper, a subtle use of a luxurious accessory is the way to go. Likewise, Lotta allows the hair and hair accessories to become the focal point of each spread and yet marries them brilliantly with her overall composition. It's not surprising that she continues to rack up award after award. Lotta Nieminen is a true Wall Breaker.
