Hot town Summer in the city, back of my neck getting dirty and gritty. Been down, isn't it a pity. Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city. All around, people looking half dead. Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head. - The Lovin' Spoonful
Summer in New York is hot, humid, and horrid. It is especially so for those of us who work full-time. Packed trains. Packed sidewalks. Sticky hot air. Summer in New York, however, is also an iconic site. Ask anyone who's ever lived or been to New York City in the summertime and they'll all have clear visions of what it felt like. Take a look at the people of New York in this photos from the Summer of 1971.
