Easter Island Heads Have Bodies!

You know when you were a kid, and one of your mean older cousins would bury you in the sand, leaving you trapped with just your head above ground for hours? Well, that doesn't seem so bad when you find out that the Moai, monolithic statues on the island of Easter, have had their bodies buried underground for centuries. The Easter Island Statue Project (EISP) is hard at work to excavate these wonders, which they still don't know if were buried by the people who made them, or if they just sunk over time.
