Recent University of Kansas graduate and Kansas City, Missouri-based Graphic Designer Jessica Marak created Wanderlust Magazine with three other graphic designers (Sam Fine, Jared Bergeron and Andrew Spalding) as a way to share their experiences from studying abroad and to also promote the Trier, Germany program. It’s very important to travel as much as possible at a young age. It makes sense that the more experiences you have in life the stronger your artwork will be. You’ll have more to pull from. Jessica attributes her love of clean typography and a systematic approach to design from her time spent overseas. For Jessica’s feature, she wrote about the trip she took with her mother to Palermo, Sicily. For her photo essay she designed seven spreads that retell the flamenco show she saw in Andalucia, Spain. Take a look at a slideshow of Wanderlust Magazine as well as stills from the publication.
